Uniform Policy

All athletes (U6 to U17) must be in full uniform for all meets at Plympton Flyers Little Athletics Club and all Little Athletics SA events.

Our uniform is a blue polo top with silver side panels and a club logo on the back. Navy athletics shorts, two-way stretch shorts, or sports briefs.

Plympton Flyers LAC practices a safe sun policy, so all children are encouraged to wear hats and sunscreen to all Sunday meets.

UNIFORM

Our polo top uniform is available to purchase from the registration desk for $50 each.

Singlets (U12 – U17) – $45

Club Supporter apparel, such as Jackets, Hoodies, caps, T-shirts and caps, can be ordered through our online store.

All athletes must compete in their full, correct club uniform. Athletes reporting to their events without the correct uniform at Little Athletics SA events will not be permitted to compete. Full uniform (including shoes) must also be worn for all medal presentations.

The full uniform consists of:

Club Top—The top must securely attach the current season’s age group and registration number patches, with the sponsor’s logos and numbers clearly visible. There should be no other badges attached to the top.

Navy, black, or white long sleeve t-shirts are allowed to be worn underneath the club top.

Shorts – Athletes must wear shorts, sports briefs or two-way stretch above the knee shorts (commonly referred to as bike shorts or skins) in their club’s (Navy) approved colours.

Athletes may wear a second pair of shorts underneath their club shorts. If worn, they must be plain and the same colour as the approved club shorts colour or black, and conform to the description above.

Shoes – Good fitting running shoes with flexible soles, a firm supporting heel and laced so the foot cannot move in the shoe can be used for all events.

For cross country events only, athletes may wear 3⁄4 or full-length tights/leggings. Tights must be plain and the same colour as the club shorts or black. Club shorts must be worn over the tights.

Uniform shorts must not carry any unapproved branding larger than 30mm x 30mm square.

Athletes requiring alternative uniform items for medical or cultural reasons may request an exemption by writing to the Competition & Technical Director, c/o the Association Office.

Spikes

U11-U17 athletes may wear spikes for all laned running events (100m-400m), hurdles, high jump, long jump, triple jump and javelin. They may also wear spikes in sections of a relay held wholly within a lane (i.e., all runners in a 4x100m; the first and second runners in a 4x200m and Medley).

U13-U17 athletes may wear spiked for 800m and 1500m events and all legs of a relay.

No athlete in Under 10’s or below is allowed to wear spikes.

Spikes must be no longer than 7mm. The maximum length for specialist high jump/javelin footwear with heel spikes is 9mm.

Note: Wedge spikes are not permitted at SA Athletic Stadium.
