Race times you can trust
Plympton Flyers Little Athletics Club uses electronic timing equipment for all track events. Our units — supplied by Timing Solutions — record race results accurately and feed them straight through to our online results system during and after each Sunday meet.
How it works
Two wireless gate sets cover every track event we run, from 50m through to 1500m. Each gate has poles seated in weighted bases, with four sensors per pole positioned at the end of each lane.
Both gate sets and the starter gun are wirelessly synchronised to a laptop running Race HQ software at the finish line. When the gun fires, the race timer starts automatically.
As athletes cross a gate, a time is recorded for that lane — or a place, for circular track 'pack' races. Once you've finished, walk over to the operator to have your registration number recorded against your result.
Wear your registration bib
Athletes need to be in their uniform with their registration bib clearly visible for our operators to record results quickly. Missing or hidden bibs slow everyone down.
